Capability – is the ability to achieve a desired effect under specified standards and conditions through combinations of means and ways to perform a set of tasks

Doctrine Development
Doctrine – represents a common way of thinking about a particular issue or problem. Doctrine encompasses tactics, and the specific procedures for conducting tasks.

Organizational Alignment
Organization – defines the structures and groupings that are used by formations and units on operations.

Defense Planning
Defense Planning – shaping tomorrows defense forces for an alliance or a nation. It focuses on issues ten to thirty years into the future and is very important since it will shape the future capability of nations’ defense forces.

Training Design
Training – includes both individual and collective training.

Materiel & Technology
Materiel – includes specific equipment, weapon systems, stores and technology. Potential materiel solutions were examined through the use of system concepts. The implications for technologies can then be deduced.
